Playlist for the Planet
CBC Radio 3 and the David Suziki Foundation are trying to find Canada’s Environmental Anthem. They have found the five finalists for every province by the judges. Now they would like you to vote to help decide which of these songs will be on David Suzuki’s ‘Playlist for the Planet’ compilation CD.
Fern Haight’s (from Hanley, SK) grandson, Lee Raito, a Saskatchewan born boy’s song, ‘One and the Same‘, has been picked by the judges to be one of the five contestants from each province. Now the crunch is on as the voting for these five from each province starts again today, September 1st, ending on September 8th. You can vote once each day for a song from each province. 100% of the proceeds goes to the David Suzuki Foundation, not to the contestant.
To get involved in the voting and to listen to all the songs from the various province, you need to go to: Playlist for the Planet and login with your user name and password. If you have not become a member you will first have to become a member by clicking on Become a Member. You will need a user name, password, email address and then fill in the box on the bottom of the two words in the picture and clicking on ‘Next’. Once you are a member you can then click on Vote Now where you login with your user name and password. You then will be able to view and hear all the songs from the provinces.
To listen to Lee Raito’s song (Fern Haight’s grandson), scroll down the page to Manitoba. You can listen to all of the songs by clicking on the green arrow on the right hand side of the page. To vote for a song (for each province), click on ‘Choose This One’ on the left side of the page. You have one vote for each province and can vote once a day. You do not have to vote for every province so if you want, you can just vote for one song each day.
Take your time and listen to some of the songs. They are very good and any of them would be a great addition to the CD.
