Mixed Bonspiel

March 21st, 2009 admin No comments

The annual mixed bonspiel starts this evening in Hanley at 8:00 p.m. and runs until Sunday. There currently are 22 teams set to try their best and overcome the opposition. Of course there will be a wet bar during the weekend as well the booth will be open for some eats.

Everyone is invited to come down and watch some curling and socialize with your fellow citizens of the town and help the local curling club with their costs.

Hanley Hermes Update

March 21st, 2009 admin No comments

I have been playing around with a few programs to see if I could decrease the size of the scanned Hermes.  I have shrunk it down considerably, however, there are a few typing errors in the document due to the process.  At least those with slower connections will be able to get a quick read of the Hermes though.

The shrunken Hermes for Febrary can be reached by clicking on Hanley Hermes – Feb

Hanley Hermes

The most recent issue of the Hanley Hermes has been issued.  The a Hanley Hermes can be read just by clicking on this. Be aware that the file is a PDF file and is a little large as I had to scan the written page into a PDF file.

Town Administrator

March 2nd, 2009 admin No comments

It would appear that our current Town Administrator has decided that he is going to move on from his position with the Town.  Tony O made an announcement at a special meeting held early last week that he would be retiring effective the end of March 2009.  After being in the position for so many years, the Town is going to be hard pressed to find someone with as much local knowledge of the position.

However, like all jobs, eventually the incumbent moves on and a new person takes over.  There are growing pains, but eventually the new hire gets comfortable in the position (or moves on).  Hopefully the new Town Administrator (whoever it may be) will be able to get up to speed in short order and be able to guide the Town in a knowledgeable manner.

Thanks for all your years Tony.
