Lutheran Church – Special Advent Sunday

The Immunization Clinics are (or will be shortly) now open to everyone in the Province. For those in the Hanley area, you can travel to Dundurn on November 28, 2009 between 10:00 am – 5:00 pm and get your shot. To speed up the process you can print off a ‘consent form’ at Consent Form
After you have gotten your needle, why not drop over to the Dundurn United Church basement. The Dundurn U.C.W. is holding a craft & bake sale on Saturday November 28th from 11:30 am – 3:00 pm. They are also serving lunch (hot turkey sandwich, pie & coffee) beginning at 11:30 am.

Just take a walk through the malls and you know what time of the year it is. Yup, we are getting into the Christmas season. If you like to have a real tree then you will want to take a look at the following poster. What a great family outing . . .

The Town of Hanley have purchased new ‘Electronic Water Meters’ with Government funding. The Town has just put out a poster that states that all meters must be changed with no exceptions. So to pick a time that is convenient to you, call, visit, email, or fax the Town Office to get your time . . .

From past experience upgrading to these newer meters, you are going to want to make sure you don’t have a toilet running or a tap dripping. The old meters had impellers that would let a slow drip to bypass counting on the meter, however, with the new meters they count every drop. When the City of Regina installed the new meters, a lot of people had a shock when they got their first water bill. The bills were much higher (as much as 50% higher). Regina had bi-monthly billing, but when the new meters were installed, they changed their billing to monthly as the bi-monthly bills were too high for people to be able to budget easily.
So if you do have anything dripping in your house, now would be the time to take care of the drips. One nice feature of the new meters is that you can check to see if you have any leaks by ensuring you have all your water items turned off. Then you shine a flashlight on the meter and it shows the date and if you have any readings. If you have readings then you know you have a drip/leak somewhere and it is time to investigate.
The Hanley Agricultural Society wants you to come out and get involved in your community. The following poster lists dates that meetings will be held. If you need any further information, give Patti Prosofsky a call at 544-2226 and she can help you out. . .

At the most recent Council meeting it was brought up that the ‘Welcome Sign’ on the entrance to the Town of Hanley could use some updating. It was decided to run a contest to see if there was any interest in helping to design a new sign. As you can see from the below poster, this is not just a little itty bitty sign. It is 8 feet by 20 feet. So all you creative people out there, get your fingers flexed and see what you can come up with for our Town. . .

As the below poster states, the Hanley Curling Club is looking for an ice caretaker for the upcoming season. This is super important in that if there is no one to look after the ice, then the curling will be impacted.
So if you are interested, or know someone who may be interested, give one of the executive a call. Do it soon . . .
