Caretaker – One Year Contract

The position is to start March 1, 2010.

Applications will be received until Monday, February 22nd and may be left at the R.M. Office

It is now the law in Saskatchewan that you must have a Boating Card to operate a boat in the province. The fine for not holding a boat licence card is $250.00

Simonsen Enterprises Inc of Hanley, Saskatchewan is sponsoring a BOATsmart course and exam on Saturday, February 20th, 2010 in the Hanley Centennial Club Room from 1 pm – 6 pm.

The cost is $60.00

The Hanley United Church Women are putting on Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper on February 16th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Club Room of the Hanley Centennial Hall.

Effective 5:15 p.m. today, Thursday February 11th, 2010, the ‘Boil Water Advisory’ has been cancelled for the Town of Hanley as per the Town Administator. All the tests came back fine, so we can once again use our water as we normally do. Well at least until we next have a power failure, a line break or whatever.

Needless to say, it is very welcome news as boiling water for normal everyday use is a pain in the butt to say the least

Because of the power going out on Tuesday, February 9th, 2010, the Town of Hanley was forced to put a boil water advisory on the whole town. With no power, this would cause a negative pressure system on the Town’s water lines and there is a possibility that contaminants could travel throughout the pipes to homeowners water systems. The Province of Saskatchewan puts out an advisory (below) advising of the ‘Boil Water In Effect’ until the situation clears.

The Town of Hanley must submit samples of water for testing for 3 days and pass before the ‘Boil Water’ is lifted.
